October 11 - Finish Lincoln and start Writing Workshop

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome and great to see you beautiful people!  Today in class we will finish Lincoln and then we will be starting a workshop on argumentative writing.  The core here is to learn how to make a point and defend it in a concise paragraph.  It is very important to me that you learn how to make and defend a point using historical evidence.  This will also be a significant part of the Quest we will have next week.  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  1. Analyze the efforts of Abraham Lincoln to pass the 13th Amendment
  2. Practice writing an argumentative paragraph using historical evidence to support a claim
Agenda:
  1. Finish Lincoln
  2. Start Writing Workshop
Homework:
  1. Civil War and Reconstruction Quest on Monday
That's all for the day folks!  I hope that you are all having a good time returning to the school routine!  Take care and have a great evening!

Live long and prosper,

Mr. Marchetti
