September 20 - Finish Growth of a Nation Notes and Start Causes of the Civil War

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome back and great to see you all!  Today in class we will wrap up our notes and discussion from yesterday and then we will be taking a look at the events that lead to the Civil War.  The Civil War is one of my other favorite periods in U.S. History because of the massive changes it brought to the U.S.  I am excited to start looking at this with you all!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:

1. Discuss and critique the major events that surrounded the expansion of the U.S. in the early 19th century
2. Analyze the events that lead to the Civil War and track the changing perceptions of the North and South
